We had a wonderful trip home to Oregon and Texas this summer. Alyssa and I got to escape after school was finished in mid July. We very much
enjoyed our time with family and friends. Alyssa really loved playing with her
two new baby cousins. Sadly, Memaw passed away, but I am so glad I was in Texas
to visit with her and we were all able to attend her joyful celebration of
life.
We also packed our first annual supplemental air shipment. I had been
preparing for this box the entire year......jotting down needed items
unavailable here and everything we might need in the next year. Its arrival in Yuhzno 5 weeks later was a very happy day!
We had a bumper crop of carrots! We have eaten a ton of carrots since August! Alyssa would pick them for me several times a week. We had to dig the rest up last month before the ground froze. Many friends in Olympia helped finish them off.
Soooo, we've been busy and I haven't written in the blog for awhile. Sorry. I'm going to try to catch up chronologically with some highlights.
Alyssa was in school till July 13th. They had Sports Day in July which was lots of fun.
Bryan and Alyssa camped in our backyard.
They cooked hamburgers for dinner and bacon, eggs and toast for breakfast.
Our Olympia community held a summer family picnic with a bike parade, games and water balloons.
