April in Texas

We enjoyed our trip home to Houston in April.  It is always super busy trying to squeeze everything in!  Alyssa was the bell ringer in Chelsey's wedding.

Maslenitsa

Maslenitsa is the Russian celebration of the beginning of Spring, March 17th.  They eat blini (thin pancakes) everyday for a week to symbolize the sun.  The snow maiden doll is burned to signify the end of winter, yikes!  They have a big celebration with folk singers, dancers and games.

Alyssa's 8th Birthday

Alyssa turned 8 in March!!  We celebrated with a Spa Party.

 

 

 The new mountain bike has to wait for the 6 feet of snow to melt....

 

March 2, 2013 Blizzard - The BIG One!

We survived our worst blizzard so far.  It was March 2, 2013.  We played two games of Monopoly since our power was blinking the whole day.  We went out to take some picture during a break in the storm and free the doors for an exit.

 

The next day was beautiful for our digging out

 

It took 3 days to clear the roads
